Renu Sisodia

Dr. Renu Sisodia is a social work academic, practitioner and senior lecturer in the School of Social Work at Massey University with more than 15 years' experience in community development, advocacy and participatory research.

Her PhD, completed at AUT, focused on creating a space for tribal Sahariya youth to improve access to safe water in rural Rajasthan, India. She worked alongside Sahariya youth, with participatory video as a key method to co-create films that amplified their stories and reclaimed their voices in the struggle for water justice. Her work focuses on elevating marginalised voices, particularly children, youth and women, through rights-based approaches that challenge structural barriers and promote community-led change in areas of water justice and sustainable development.
